Desirée's place is located in an old custom's house just on
the border between Sweden and Finland. The majestic Tornio-river flows
gently on it's way south just a few meters away.
It is always fascinating to arrive to Pello and the rest of the Tornio-river
valley from the rugged terrains of Lapland.
The valley is so full of vegetation. The valley and the river give
life to such an abundant flora in comparison to the hills and mountains
of surrounding Lapland. On a moist, warm July night, the athmosphere
is almost tropical...

I love staying overnight in the peacefull rooms of Dessan's upstairs.
The sauna and the fresh sheets quarrantee a deep sleep. There's even
a TV-set in the self-service kitchen.
Ideal for conferences (ask for details) as well as a starting-point
for travels to the vicinity. The Pullinki ski-resort is only about
20 km's away. You could also try fishing, trekking or berry-picking...
And Dessan's is a budget-bargain!
